Regulatory Reporting within the Treasury of a Global Investment Bank

Produced a complex data feed in a short space of time for a Bank of England regulatory requirement. The biggest challenge was to develop an accurate feed from complex (and frequently changing) requirements in a short space of time in order to avoid a £2bn 'haircut'.

Credit Derivatives Data Warehouse for a Global Investment Bank

Development, maintenance and support for a large (1TB) database and cube used by Front Office staff in the UK, US and Tokyo. Processed 100m rows of data each night.

BI Application for Global 500 Publisher

Designed and developed an OLAP solution for this award winning information service. The main driver was high performance data retrieval over large volumes of data.  Queries across 70 million rows of data were returned in under a second.

The overall solution incorporated ETL, incremental cube processing, synchronisation of the data cube across dual web servers, integration with .NET web services, automated backups and resilience.  The architecture spanned five environments and approximately 20 servers.

Document Management System for Media Rights Organisation

This high profile media rights organisation needed a feature-rich method for creation, editing, management and storage of legal contracts. None of the off the shelf packages were suitable in isolation so a custom solution was designed, making use of Microsoft CRM and SharePoint where appropriate.

The risk was removed by using RAD techniques to develop a ‘clickable’ prototype along with a detailed database design and technical specification documents.

Financial Aggregation Application for Family Offices

This software application has been described by an independent analyst as “two years ahead of its time”. It is a web based system that allows high net worth individuals to view a comprehensive suite of interactive reports of their portfolios. Data from multiple investment managers is aggregated into a common format for ease of aggregation and comparison.

The system was designed and developed using SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services in conjunction with ASP.NET custom development.

Data Warehouse for Housing Association

This project was the first introduction to data warehousing for the housing association. In order to facilitate a successful adoption across the organisation a series of small releases were undertaken, giving the business users ample opportunity for feedback with each release.

The data warehouse included 36 KPIs for regular monthly and quarterly reporting. The solution is entirely based on SQL Server and includes an overnight ETL process for data refresh.

Workflow Application For Central Government Organisation

A team of four people within this government agency needed to monitor 25,000 UK companies for compliance with some new EU regulations. This highly intuitive software application enabled them to do this in an intuitive and efficient manner.

After gathering requirements and subsequently creating a ‘clickable’ prototype the non-technical business users were able to give feedback on the design before a line of code was written. The solution incorporated workflow, dashboards, integration with Office, management reports and a high level of security.
